How We Got Started
Asher Brewing Company is an independently owned brewery in Boulder, Colorado. Our mission is to produce the highest quality ales using only organic ingredients, while also following environmentally sustainable and socially responsible business practices.
In 2009, Chris Asher envisioned bringing organic beer to Boulder. After nearly a year of prior planning and research, he opened our taproom doors for business. On February 25th, 2010, our organic certification was issued for every beer at Asher Brewing Company, making us the first all organic brewery in the state of Colorado! We believe that organic ingredients are better for you, better for the environment, and better for the beer.
About our Brewmaster
Chris, a native of Massachusetts, has been brewing beer since his days at Wesleyan University, where he taught homebrewing classes. After college, he brewed for four years at Golden City Brewery (Golden, Colorado) before getting a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Colorado Boulder. He then served as brewmaster for RedFish (Boulder, Colorado) for five years before starting his own local business- Asher Brewing Company. Chris' brewing accolades include two Great American Beer Festival silver medals and a gold medal in 2004 for Redfish's Fat Tuesday Strong Ale. In 2016, Asher Brewing Company's Imperial Ginger Ale won 1st place in the Spiced Beer category and 2nd Overall Best in Show at the National Organic Brewing Competition.

About our growth
Asher is a true local watering hole. Our taproom is open Sunday-Wednesday from 3pm-10pm and Thursday-Saturday from 2pm-midnight. Our taproom is the perfect place for an after work beer or a late night hang-out. Come by for a casual game of pool or darts!
The taproom is not your only chance to grab a taste of our delicious beers. In 2011 we began canning some of our Flagship beers, and now offer our Green Bullet IPA, Tree Hugger Amber, and Green Lantern Kölsch in 16 oz cans. Additionally, we are available at local bars and restaurants in the area.
